We primarily report on the activities of the National Hockey League, but occasionally, noteworthy news happens elsewhere that we would like to discuss with you.

That's the case with this one concerning North Korea's national team.

North Korea Relegated

North Korea, which hasn't competed in ice hockey competitions since the Covid-19 pandemic, has been demoted to the fourth division.

Here's the report by Puck Empire:

"North Korea's 🇰🇵 men's national team has been relegated to D3B of the World Championship after withdrawing from last year's tournament.

North Korea has not played since 2019 due to COVID-19.

They'll be in D3B, playing against Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦, Hong Kong 🇭🇰, Singapore 🇸🇬, Iran 🇮🇷, and the Philippines 🇵🇭, assuming they participate in 2024."

They will have to kick it up a notch if they want to move up in the rankings.
