Tempe Vote A Direct Cause Of Top Prospect's Decision To Not Play In The NHL Next Year
Logan Cooley could certainly play in the NHL next year but because of the turmoil regarding the Coyotes' arena, he has decided he will be waiting a year or more.
Tempe Arena Rejection Part Of Cooley's Decision To Return To NCAA
Logan Cooley is arguably the top-drafted NHL prospect at the moment. The 2022 3rd overall pick had a fantastic year of development and likely could make the NHL next season.
However, Cooley has decided to return to the NCAA in pursuit of an NCAA championship with the Golden Gophers.
NHL insider Craig Morgan asked Cooley about his decision to go back to college for another year and this is what was the response.
It is intriguing how if the vote went in the Coyotes' favor, Cooley would likely be in the NHL next year. This could be a sign of him deciding to leave the Coyotes franchise because of the uncertainty that comes with their future and whether they will even be in Arizona.
It looks like Cooley wants answers on the future before he makes his decision and it is the smart thing to do on his part.
