A Beloved NHL Retiree Has Passed Away

Sad news comes to you all this Sunday mornings, as it's been reported that longtime NHL veteran and inaugural member of the New York Islanders, Gerry Hart, has died. The feisty defenseman was a fan favorite for many, and will be sorely missed

Hart was always known on the ice for playing a game suited for a man much larger than himself. Never afraid to stand up to bigger men, Hart was quite the competitor at just 5'9».

His lengthy NHL career included stops in Detroit, Quebec, St. Louis, and of course, New York. Gary Hart was an inaugural member of the New York Islanders organization, and helped launch them to where they are today.

Hart was 75 years of age, but his young, feisty spirit will live on in the game of hockey. We send our condolences to Hart's friends and family.
