BREAKING: The worst is confirmed for Gabriel Landeskog
Terrible news for the Colorado Avalanche. After missing all of last season due to knee surgery, the Avs have announced that team captain Gabriel Landeskog will now miss all of 2023-24 as well.
"Landeskog will undergo a cartilage transplant in his right knee on May 10. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Brian Cole at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. The 30-year-old forward is expected to miss the entire 2023-24 season."
This is a huge blow to the 2021-22 Stanley Cup Champions, who sputtered in the post season this year without their captain. Landeskog signed an eight-year, 56 million dollar contract in 2021. The upcoming knee surgery will be his third.
