While it didn't go completely unnoticed by the officials, the Minnesota Wild's Matt Dumba seemed to get off easy in Friday night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dumba caught the Pen's Drew O'Connor with a hard hit that was definitely late, and his head/face appears to be the initial point of contact.
-
Dumba served just two minutes for interference. O' Connor left the game for the remainder of the 1st period, but did return to the bench for the beginning of the 2nd.
-
The hit was questionable enough that even the regular Minnesota Wild beat reporter can see some potential supplemental discipline for Dumba coming from the Department of Player Safety.
