A fast fix was required at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa Monday night as the Senators hosted the Florida Panthers. When Florida's Alexander Barkov hit the Sens' Travis Hamonic near the corner, a pane of glass became completely dislodged. Fortunately, a photographer who was covering the game narrowly avoided being hit by the glass. If it had shattered, it could have caused more serious injuries. Hamonic deserves recognition for holding one end of the pane to ensure it couldn't hit the floor or anyone in the stands.
Both teams recognize the significance of this game in relation to the wild card positions for the upcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs. Currently, Florida has a better chance than Ottawa, but the Senators are not entirely out of contention.
