NHL players have various methods to stay alert and focused on the bench during games. However, sometimes they may ask for more than they can handle.
This was the case for Minnesota Wild player Ryan Reaves, who needed a pick-me-up while sitting on the bench between shifts. He asked for smelling salts, but what happened next was unexpected.
In a video shared on Twitter by Jomboy Media, Reaves is handed the smelling salts. After trying them out, he decides they are not potent enough and turns around to request something stronger.

Unfortunately, he places the smelling salts too close to his nostrils and appears as though he is about to vomit on the bench.
Reaves is known to be an energetic player, but after the smelling salts hit him hard, he must have had some extra speed in his stride during his next shift on the ice
Would you use smelling salts?
