If you're the kind of person who like a bit of pro wrestling with your hockey, those two worlds are colliding right now. It all started when four-time Stanley Cup champion Darren McCarty showed up on Impact Wrestling as a member of the audience, and decided to challenge Bully Ray (FKA Bubba Ray Dudley) after having a drink thrown in his face. It didn't end well for McCarty.
Following that encounter, Bully Ray took to Twitter and said he never liked hockey players, calling them a 'Bunch of fake tough guys.'
Now, another former NHL enforcer is stepping in to have his say, and it may just lead to another wrestler-hockey tough guy show down in the ring. Georges Laraque, who made all of his money in the NHL with his fists, stepped up to Bully Ray with a challenge. Bully Ray then insulted Laraque, calling him a clown.
After Laraque told Bully that he had already lost, the 18-time World Tag Team Champion replied saying Impact Wrestling would be in Montreal in April, and Laraque had a seat saved especially for him.
It makes you wonder whether a confrontation between the two has already been planned out for the Montreal show. While McCarty has been dabbling in pro-wrestling for at least a couple of years now, Laraque has no experience in the field that I'm aware of. If he is planning to get involved, I hope he's taking some practice bumps through tables, as that's how the showdown is likely to end.
