Greer hits the showers after cross-checking Hoffman's face (video)

The old Boston Bruins/Montreal Canadiens may not be what it once was, but that didn't stop AJ Greer from getting tossed out of a game between the two Thursday night. Greer was given a 5 minute major for a brutal cross-check to the face of Montreal's Mike Hoffman while the two were lined up to take a faceoff. Greer and Hoffman started tapping each other's stick, when Greer essentially puts the shaft of his stick in Hoffman's mouth. Hoffman likely sells it some, but any official seeing that is going to call it.

In the old days of the Habs-Bruins rivalry, these types of plays were certainly more common. It's too bad the two teams don't play each other as often any more.
