Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands. New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin was a little miffed Tuesday night after making a save and taking whack after whack at his pads from members of the Washington Capitals. While one of this teammates was trying to get Aliaksei Protas away from his netminder, Shesterkin grabbed his stick and threw it over the net in a fit of rage. It's hard to blame the guy as the Capitals just weren't giving up.
The Rangers would end up winning the game 5-3. Shesterkin stopped 28 of 31 shots for a .903 save percentage. At the other end, Darcy Kuemper let in 4 goals on 35 shots for a .886 SV%. Shesterkin had an assist after a great pass that would set up a goal by Mika Zibanejad.
