Avs forward Alex Newhook caught Karlsson up high, which drew blood, and the referees somehow missed it. One of the officials was Gord Dwyer, who was the same referee that ejected Sharks head coach David Quinn versus the Capitals just a few days ago. Karlsson then was getting tended to on the bench before being told he would need to go to the dressing room. Karlsson showed his frustrations by launching his helmet across the ice, earning himself a two-minute minor for unsportsmanlike conduct and a ten-minute misconduct. The veteran D-man had a lot to be mad about, and the video can be seen below.
