Michael Pezzetta takes on Austin Watson in Saturday night bout at the Bell Centre (video)

Early in the second period during Saturday's game between Montreal and Ottawa, Canadiens forward Michael Pezzetta dropped the mitts with Senators forward Austin Watson.

Pezzetta crushed Senators defenceman Erik Brannstrom and then proceeded to take his gloves off and rushed into a fight with Watson, who took a roughing penalty earlier in the game for a hit on Justin Barron.

The fight didn't last very long and neither side landed any real devastating blow, but Watson used his size advantage to take Pezzetta to the ice, before the pair were separated by the officials and sent to the penalty box.

Saturday's tilt marked Pezzetta's sixth fight of the season and Watson's tenth of the 2022-23 campaign.
