The NHL's All-Star weekend in South Florida has not been great. Not even close.
The Skills Competition was kind of a joke, players clearly not taking it seriously. It was drawn out way too long, and it was really hard for fans to really buy into it.
Take this shootout effort from New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin:

Sarah Nurse is a great player, and it's great for the game to have her and Hillary Knight on the ice for this event.
But this level of effort - in which Shesterkin is not alone - is an insult to fans.
Trevor Zegras, who stole the show with his Dodgeball-inspired shootout move last season, chimed in with his thoughts about the All-Star game.
