The Hershey Bears' annual Teddy Bear Toss has become a nationally recognized event in which fans litter the ice with teddy bears after the team scores their first goal of the night. This season's was a little different due to the fact that the team failed to register a goal in Sunday's 2-0 defeat to the Bridgeport Islanders.

As such, fans unloaded their fluffy arsenals onto the ice as time was about to expire. Officials were forced to end the game prematurely, but it was all smiles from the Bears' players as this event benefits children in need.

The stuffed bears are then collected and donated to children around the holidays. Per to the team's official website, the Hershey Bears hold the world-record for the teddy bear toss, now having collected 67,309 stuffed animals; topping their previous record of 52,341.

The Giant Teddy Bear Toss has collected 389,508 bears since its inception in 2001.
