According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Florida Panthers have placed forward Anton Levtchi on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Levtchi, 27, signed a one-year, entry-level contract with the Panthers last summer after spending the previous seven years in Finland, including parts of six with Tappara Tampere.

The Varkaus native has spent the majority of his time in North America in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers, while also appearing in two games for the Panthers, making his NHL debut on December 29th vs Montreal.

In 35 games for the Checkers, Levtchi had 17 points (eight goals, nine assists), six penalty minutes and was a minus-ten.
