According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the Vancouver Canucks have signed Russian forward Andrei Kuzmenko to a two-year contract extension worth $11 million ($5.5 million AAV).

Johnston added that the contract includes a $2 million signing bonus in Year 1, a $1 million signing bonus in Year 2, as well as a 12-team no-trade list.

Kuzmenko, 26, came over to North America last summer after spending the previous eight seasons in the KHL. He signed a one-year deal with the Canucks and so far, he's having a very strong rookie campaign in the NHL.

In 47 games, the Yakutsk native has 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists), four penalty minutes and was a plus-four.

There was talk in the last week or two that the Canucks could look to move Kuzmenko before the trade deadline on March 3rd and try to recoup pieces to aid with their re-tool, but they opted otherwise. Meanwhile, Patrik Allvin's attention now will be fully on trying to trade captain Bo Horvat.
