While on 'The Jeff Marek Show' on Tuesday, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman shared his thoughts on the St. Louis Blues heading into the next several weeks before the trade deadline and says that he believes Doug Armstrong will trade veteran forwards Ryan O'Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko.
"Do I think Tarasenko is going to get traded? Yes, I think he will. Do I think O'Reilly is going to get traded? Yes, I'm coming more around to that, absolutely. But I think they've got some other pieces, Acciari, Barbashev..."
The duo was placed on injured reserve earlier this month, but the Blues announced earlier on Tuesday that they've activated Tarasenko, while O'Reilly remains on the sidelines.
Tarasenko, 31, has appeared in 34 games this season for the Blues, recording 29 points (ten goals, 19 assists), eight penalty minutes and is a minus-13. As for Ryan O'Reilly, he has 16 points (ten goals, six assists), six penalty minutes and is a minus-28.
Both O'Reilly and Tarasenko are set to become unrestricted free agents on July 1st.
Friedman on TJMS: "Do I think Tarasenko is going to get traded? Yes, I think he will. Do I think O'Reilly is going to get traded? Yes, I'm coming more around to that, absolutely. But I think they've got some other pieces, Acciari, Barbashev..."— NHL Watcher (@NHL_Watcher) January 24, 2023
