For Habs fans, there has been very few bright spots for the Canadiens this season. Other than the emergence of rookies
Kaiden Guhle,
Juraj Slafkovsky and
Arber Xhekaj, along with the strong play of
Cole Caufield, there hasn't been a whole lot to cheer about.
When looking to the future and the team's prospect pipeline, it's hard not to get excited and two of those prospects could be with the team before the end of the 2022-23 season.
According to Mathias Brunet of La Presse, Canadiens prospects
Sean Farrell and
Emil Heineman could be joining the team for the end of the 2022-23 campaign. In order to do so, Farrell will need to sign his entry-level contract, while Heineman already has, but is on loan in the SHL currently.
Meanwhile, one of the Canadiens' top prospects, Lane Hutson, is expected to return to Boston University in the NCAA for the 2023-24 season. It's possible his collegiate career could come to a close after his sophomore year.

Brunet also touched on a few other prospects, including standout goaltender
Jakub Dobes, who in parts of two seasons with Ohio State (NCAA), he has a record of 37-21-3 with a 2.22 GAA, a .929 save percentage and six shutouts. For an organization in need of a potential starting goaltender down the line, Dobes is one to watch.
Another prospect to watch is defenceman
Jayden Struble. Struble is in his final year at Northeastern University and if he doesn't sign with the Canadiens by mid-August, he'll become an unrestricted free agent.
