Hockey players man...

Our sport is a dangerous one, as vulcanized rubber is constantly flying around at ridiculous speeds. As the game gets faster and faster, the hazard of players being struck by pucks in vulnerable areas (namely the face) appears to be growing with it.

Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron was the NHL's latest victim when he was struck by a deflected one-timer from teammate David Pastrnak:

Lo and behold, Bergeron was back less than two minutes later (game time, not elapsed). That is leadership right there folks.

The Bruins were defending a two-goal lead late in the third, and the captain led from the front (as he always does), as the Bruins held on to defeat the Islanders 4-1.

The genuine concern of Islanders center Casey Cizikas was noteworthy as well. Patrice Bergeron's respect around the NHL is second-to-none, and that just shows it.
