Louie Rowe - a forward for the Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL) and the Peoria Rivermen (SPHL) - was released from his contract for a bevy of homophobic and transphobic comments made on his Twitter page.

Rowe hasn't scored a goal since 2017 in his Arizona State days and has only appeared in 19 professional games since 2018. More of a fighter, Rowe's pro-hockey career wasn't long for this world anyway.
Regardless of one's political affiliations, some things are simply better left off of a published forum open for the world to see. Especially prejudicial opinions like Rowe's.
