The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated center Alexandre Texier off injured reserve, the team's general manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced Tuesday.

Texier, 20, had a solid rookie season for the Blue Jackets this year. In 36 games played, he had six goals and seven assists. Despite being a rookie, he has some prior NHL playoff experience, appearing in eight playoff games for Columbus during the 2019 playoffs, posting two goals and one assist. He had been on the injured reserve this season since the end of December after suffering a back injury in a game versus the Florida Panthers.

Texier, a former second rounder taken by the Blue Jackets, is one of many players who the team has recently activated from the injured reserve. With the team finally getting healthy, they could be a dark horse candidate in the Eastern Conference in this year's upcoming playoffs.
