The Vegas Golden Knights announced today that defenseman Alex Pietrangelo is taking an indefinite leave from the team due to an illness in his family.

"Alex Pietrangelo is away from the team and will remain so indefinitely due to an illness in the family.

The Vegas Golden Knights wholeheartedly support Alex and the Pietrangelos and ask that the family's privacy be respected at this time."

Pietrangelo has requested privacy during this time.

So far in the '22-23 campaign, the 32-year old has 21 points in 23 games for the Golden Knights. He - like many on the roster - have thrived under new head coach Bruce Cassidy, and Vegas will miss his services.

For now, however, all we can do is hope for the best for Alex Pietrangelo and his family.
