Jordan Binnington has had quite the week. On top of losing his past four starts, the Blues' goaltender has found his name in headlines thanks to his behavior on more than one occasion.
On Thursday, Binnington
tried to check Carolina Hurricanes captain
Jordan Staal, at which he failed terrifically. Then on Saturday he got yanked after surrendering 4 goals-against on 17 Pittsburgh shots. After which he mouthed off to the Penguins' bench, taking a
10-minute misconduct penalty in the process.
The Blues fell 6-2 to the Pens, and Binnington's string of poor play is beginning to snowball. St. Louis head coach Craig Berube ripped on Binnington and his antics after the game.
"It's got to stop. It doesn't help anything. Just play goal. Stop the puck."

Regardless of his antics, Binnington has not been even remotely solid so far in '22-23. After Saturday's performance, he falls to 9-10-0 on the season, posting a 3.11 GAA & .899 SV% along the way.
A
huge part of the Blues' woes to start this season has been the lackluster play of both Binnington and Greiss; although of the two, Binnington's numbers are categorically worse, but the difference is negligible. They've both been subpar.
It's clear that Berube is growing weary of his starting goaltender's behavior. It's one thing if he's stopping pucks. But when Binnington is playing like this, Chief just wants him to shut up and play the net. Hard to blame him.
