The John Tortorella quote machine is the gift that keeps on giving. Among the Philadelphia Flyers players who have had rocky starts to the 2022-23 season is 2017 first-round pick Morgan Frost.
Just 5 points in 21 games so far, Frost has yet to find his groove in the NHL. The Flyers don't boast a ton of quality offensive contributors anyhow, so Frost shouldn't bear all the blame. But he's still a work-in-progress. Tortorella's known for being overly hard on young players, but his assessment of Frost is rather unflattering.
"You look at Frosty. I still think he's up and down like a toilet seat," Tortorella said of Frost.
Call me crazy, but I would rather not be likened to a toilet seat by my head coach. That's just me.
Then again, Tortorella has his own way of doing things, and it seems to be working out for him so far. Well, maybe not in Philly, as they are sinking like a stone to the bottom of the standings. Big picture, though, Torts' career résumé speaks for itself.
