A blatant attack on a referee during an amateur hockey game is now being looked into by police. Russia media reports state police are investigating the incident that happened in Russia's Labour Reserves League, which resulted in 42-year-old Nikolai Rizin receiving a lifetime ban from the Moscow Ice Hockey Federation

Police in the area have announce a criminal case has been opened for assault and inflicting bodily harm. Given Rizin's actions in the video, I will be very surprised if he avoids criminal charges. This wasn't even Rizin's first attack on a hockey official. In 2016, he slammed a referee's head into the glass due to anger over a penalty.
