Amid injury issues to their blue line, the Toronto Maple Leafs have gone out and acquired defensive help from the Arizona Coyotes. Currently, the Maple Leafs are without Jake Muzzin, T.J. Brodie and Morgan Rielly.
According to Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports, the Coyotes have sent defenceman Conor Timmins to the Maple Leafs in exchange for AHL forward Curtis Douglas.
Morgan added that the Coyotes wanted to place Timmins on waivers and have him play in the American Hockey League to get top minutes, but opted to move him to Toronto.
Timmins, 24, has appeared in six games for the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL) on a conditioning stint this season, recording three assists, 12 penalty minutes and is a minus-10.

They wanted to waive Timmins to send him to Tucson where he could play a lot of games, minutes & situations, all things they felt he needed but wasn't going to get right now in the NHL.— Craig Morgan (@CraigSMorgan) November 23, 2022
