The Anaheim Ducks are not among the 24 teams that will be competing for the Stanley Cup this season. This is the second consecutive season that they have not made the playoffs, after making it for six years in a row.

The team remains optimistic for the 2020-21 season and has high hopes for forwards Trevor Zegras and Brayden Tracey. Zegras and Tracey were first round draft picks in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Zegras played for Boston University this season, where he made 25 assists in 33 games. He also tied for second among NCAA freshmen and made nine assists in the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship. He has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Ducks.

Adding Zegras and Tracey to the mix along with Sonny Milano could make the team stronger next season. Milano was traded to the Ducks from the Columbus Blue Jackets in February and scored five points in his first seven games with the Ducks. He is currently a pending restricted free agent.
