After four seasons and 181 games in total with Vaxjo in the SHL, Philadelphia Flyers prospect Linus Hogberg's future was uncertain. On Saturday, the Flyers announced that they had signed the 21-year-old defenceman to an entry-level deal, carrying a cap hit of $815 000, going up to $900 000 if accounting for potential performance bonuses.

Hogberg, who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL entry draft, scored 34 points in 181 games with Vaxjo, winning the SHL Le Mat trophy along with Elias Pettersson in 2018. He will report to the Flyers AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, to start the 2020-21 season.
