For the first time since being traded to the Florida Panthers last March and then signing with the Ottawa Senators this summer, Claude Giroux is set to face his former club, the Philadelphia Flyers and admits it will be 'a little weird'.
"It's a little weird, obviously, being in Philly for so many years," Giroux said. "Playing them for the first time, it's definitely different. I'm not too sure what to expect. ... It's definitely weird."
Giroux, 34, spent parts of the first 15 seasons in the NHL with the Flyers, appearing in 1,000 games for them and wearing the 'C' for ten of those 15 years. The Hearst (Ontario) native will make his return to Philadelphia, next Saturday.
Puck drop for tonight's tilt in Ottawa between the Senators and Flyers is set for 7 p.m. ET.
