Ottawa Senators prospect Josh Norris was rewarded for his terrific season with the Belleville Senators, as he was named the AHL's rookie of the year.

Norris, 21, led Belleville in scoring this year with 31 goals and 61 points in 56 games. Those numbers were good enough for him to be named an AHL First All-Star Team and to the All-Rookie Team. The young forward was one of the main pieces the Senators acquired when they traded superstar defenceman Erik Karlsson to the San Jose Sharks back in September of 2018.

Norris also made his NHL debut this season, playing three games with the Senators. He recorded no points in his short stint, but did put up a +2 rating. The Oxford Mississippi native was selected by the Sharks in the first round (19th overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
