Eichel says he's fed up with losing

The 24-team playoffs has given many teams a chance they didn't think they would get. The Buffalo Sabres are not one of them. After finishing 25th, and missing out on playoffs for the fifth straight season since Jack Eichel entered in 2015, the Sabres captain is not happy. shownhl_37825_shownhl

In a conference call on Thursday, according to Postmedia's Michael Traikos, Eichel said he's not content with the situation.
"I'm fed up with the losing and I'm frustrated. It's not an easy pill to swallow right now. It's been a tough past couple of months and a tough past five years."

Eichel has been highly valuable for the Sabres since he entered the league, recording 137 goals and 200 assists in 354 games, but it appears his frustration with the organization's inability to make the playoffs may be increasing.

"In a situation like this, a lot of the teams that are going to continue to play. They probably thought they were going to be out of it. They're going to gain valuable experience. Now we're not one of them. It adds to the frustration. It adds to it a lot."

This season, Eichel was the Sabres' scoring leader with 36 goals and 42 assists, which was 28 more points than the Sabres' second best scorer, Sam Reinhart.
