The Chicago Blackhawks defense is not the best, I get that, but Connor McDavid is a joke. The guy is a living cheat code, and Seth Jones never really had a chance on Connor's first one, regardless of how much he might get paid. Same goes for Alex Stalock.
This game was pretty open from the opening drop, and neither team defended particularly well. Through two periods, Chicago led the Oilers 4-3. McDavid scored two goals and an assist, while on the other end Max Domi posted a goal and two assists through the middle frame.
Chicago, for all they did to lose hockey games this summer, have started off weirdly on fire. They were 4-2 heading into this game, to the surprise of pretty much everyone.
Connor completed his hat-trick with a sick display they left Jake McCabe scratching his head and chasing the wind.
