Montréal Canadiens prospect and Minnesota Golden Gophers forward Rhett Pitlick was assessed a ten-minute major after he scored a goal and threw his stick in the stands; an illegal celebrations under the NCAA rules.

This feels like a weird penalty to assess, but rules are rules.

What is also questionable, is performing that specific celly -- made famous by Jack Hughes (NJD) and Trevor Zegras (ANA) -- at any point of the game other than overtime. That is 100% an OT-specific celly.

At least the North Dakota fan who caught the stick had the decency to throw it back though, right?
