It took him five games, but the 2022 first overall pick is on the board with his maiden goal in the NHL.

During the second period of Thursday's tilt between the Arizona Coyotes and Montreal Canadiens, Habs rookie Juraj Slafkovsky scored his first career National Hockey League goal to extend his team's lead to 4-0.

Just prior to the goal, Slafkovsky took a run from Coyotes defenceman Josh Brown and was surprised that there was no call, looking back at the ref after the incident. Canadiens defenceman Arber Xhekaj came in to hit Brown and forced a turnover, which Slafkovsky picked up the puck and proceeded to fire it past Connor Ingram.
