If you watch hockey, you've heard of Pierre McGuire.

As a collegiate hockey player, assistant, head coach and executive in the NHL, prior to becoming one of the most famous analysts in hockey, McGuire has made himself a household name.

McGuire has long been discussed as a possible general manager in the NHL, even interviewing and discussing contract terms for the GM spot with the Pittsburgh Penguins organization, prior to their hiring of Jim Rutherford.

It seems now, however, McGuire may have another shot. As suggested by the Toronto Sun's Steve Simmonds, the Veteran NHL Analyst may have interviewed for the General Manager's position with the New Jersey Devils.

When questioned about it, McGuire responded by stating “They have a GM.”

While this is true, the current general manager in New Jersey is Tom Fitzgerald, who was only named interim general manager after former GM Ray Shero was terminated by the organization.

Given his experience, and the current state of things in NJ, McGuire could make a good fit, and while nothing has been confirmed, this is a speculation certainly worth keeping on the table.
