Rumours circulated last season that Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko wanted to be traded away from St. Louis and was seeking a fresh start elsewhere. So far, no trade has materialized and the 30-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Depending on how St. Louis' season goes, it's not out of the question that he could be moved leading up to the trade deadline, rather than the Blues losing him for nothing next summer.

During a media scrum recently, Tarasenko was asked by Jim Thomas of St. Louis Post-Dispatch if he was still wanting to be traded and the Blues forward was not too happy with the question.

"For real, you asking me this on the first day? ... I'm not going to answer it. This can go both ways. I'm focused on the season now and I'm excited to be here, that's it," Tarasenko said.

Tarasenko, a native of Yaroslavl (Russia), had a strong 2021-22 campaign after struggling with injuries the previous two seasons. In 75 regular season games, he recorded a new career-high in point with 82 (34 goals, 48 assists), adding 32 penalty minutes and was a plus-seven. He went on to add nine points (six goals, three assists) in 12 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Do you think Vladimir Tarasenko will be traded this season before March 3rd's deadline? Have your say in the poll below!
