According to Keith Yandle and Spittin' Chiclets, Huberdeau offered Zito a simple 'f--- you' in response to being traded.
Huberdeau had been with the Panthers for ten years before the trade. He basically grew up there and even said his family vacationed in the Sunshine State as a kid.
Fortunately, one of his best friends is also going to Calgary in MacKenzie Weegar, but the trade visibly upset Huberdeau at first. Especially considering the manner in which the Panthers' season ended last year, getting swept by their in-state rivals, which had to be devastating.
Yandle did mention, however, that he knows Huberdeau is very excited to be in Calgary now, likely to do with that gigantic extension he just signed.
