Panthers expected to sign defenceman Artyom Sergeyev
According to KHL reporter Igor Eronko, Russian defenceman Artyom Sergeyev will be signing with the Florida Panthers.
Eronko mentions that Sergeyev told Salavat Yulaev's general manager he will be signing with the Panthers. The soon to be 27-year-old defenceman has spent the last two seasons with Salavat Yulayev in the KHL. This season, he posted two goals and seven assists in 53 games.
Sergeyev also represented his home country in both the 2012 and 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships. He posted two points in both tournaments. Although nothing is official yet, we can expect to hear the Panthers have signed the six-foot-one defenceman sooner than later.
