Back in June, the Colorado Avalanche finally reached the summit, winning their third Stanley Cup in franchise history and their first since 2001.

Colorado's core remains in place, despite the departures of Nazem Kadri, Andre Burakovsky and Darcy Kuemper. Nearly a week before they lost Kuemper in free agency, the Avalanche went out and acquired Alexandar Georgiev from the New York Rangers. So in between the pipes, they have it figured it out, for the most part, but losing a player like Nazem Kadri is going to sting.

During an appearance on Tim & Friends, Avalanche defenceman Cale Makar said that he's confident they can win the Stanley Cup for a second year in a row.

"We know that we have the capability of potentially doing it again," Makar said. "It goes back to the competitiveness, I feel like everybody makes it here because they have a certain edge of competitiveness."

He added, "We have so much of that on our team, especially (Nathan MacKinnon). Any time you have competitive guys together, it makes you want to play even better, and that's kind of the way our team rolled."

There's no doubt that the Avalanche have the talent to repeat as Stanley Cup champions. From Makar to MacKinnon, Rantanen to Landeskog, this team is built to win multiple championships.

The Colorado Avalanche will begin their defence of the Stanley Cup and raise the 2022 championship banner on October 12th when they host the Chicago Blackhawks.
