Winnipeg Jets captain and Minnesota native Blake Wheeler took to Twitter on Saturday, with one solemn word for President Donald Trump's call to end Minnesota's statewide lockdown.

“No.”

Through recent days, President Donald Trump has repeatedly expressed his desired goal of reopening the economy, despite the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

The U.S. President rattled off a series of tweets on Friday using the word “liberate,” seemingly attempting to put pressure on legislation in places like Minnesota, Michigan and Virginia to lift stay-at-home orders.

Minnesota native, Blake Wheeler, very clearly disagrees with President Trump.

It would imply from his tweet early Saturday morning that Wheeler believes the stay-at-home orders need to remain in effect, in order to slow the spread of the virus.

Wheeler is a Minnesota native, born in Plymouth, not far from Minneapolis. Prior to his NHL career, the 33-year-old forward spent three years playing with the University of Minnesota.

As of Saturday, the U.S. President has stated that the lifting of stay-at-home is at the discretion of each state.

It was reported over the weekend that beaches have been reopened in the state of Florida, and are already beginning to host large crowds.
