Phil Kessel's ex-teammates give mixed answers on how he is as a teammate
Less than a week ago, Phil Kessel signed a one-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights, who will become the 34-year-old's fifth team since entering the NHL back in 2006.
Kessel will go into the 2022-23 season with several milestones within reach. He is one goal away from the 400th of his career and he can tie Keith Yandle on the most consecutive games played list on October 24th against his former club, the Toronto Maple Leafs. On November 17th against his former club, the Arizona Coyotes, Kessel could play in his 1,000th consecutive game.

We know what Kessel is capable of doing on the ice, but what type of guy is Phil Kessel? Jack Han, a former NHL analyst and AHL coach, asked some of his former teammates what Kessel is like as a teammate.
- "Has issues with authority."
- "Wicked shot. A freak athlete."
- "Doesn't go into the corners."
Well, it certainly sounds like a mixed bag of compliments and criticisms, but there's no denying that Kessel can be a dangerous offensive player, when put in a situation to succeed. Last season in Arizona was rough, only scoring eight goals in 82 games, the lowest single-season tally of his career, but Kessel should bounce back with the Vegas Golden Knights and they hope he can fill the void left by Max Pacioretty.
