Todd Woodcroft, who has spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach with the Winnipeg Jets, is moving on to a new gig. Woodcroft was offered, and has accepted, the head coaching position with the University of Vermont Men's Hockey Team.

The 47-year-old has held various positions with NHL teams since 2000, including video coach with Minnesota and the L.A. Kings, a scout for both those teams, and director of scouting for the Calgary Flames. He also served as assistant general manager for Dynamo Minsk of the KHL. His brothers Craig and Jay have also held various coaching positions with NHL and KHL teams. Woodcroft had been running a hockey school when he broke into the NHL as a video coach for the Minnesota Wild.

"For the past four years, I have been the luckiest coach in hockey," said Woodcroft. "I've been surrounded by the best people and the best athletes in the world. I've created lifelong relationship with too many people to thank. During this process, one of the best people I ever had the luck to meet in my life, (Jets) head coach Paul Maurice, gave me some sage advice: He said to make sure I interviewed the people that were interviewing me to see if it would be a good fit. I know in my heart that this felt right from the very beginning."
