According to John Matisz of theScore, the St. Louis Blues have signed forward Sammy Blais to a two-year contract extension. The deal will reportedly pay him $1.5 million per season.

This is a good signing for the Blues. Blais has proven to be a valuable bottom six forward who was starting to chip in offensively this season. Prior to the NHL pause, he had six goals and seven assists in 40 games this season. The 23-year-old also suited up for 15 games during last year's Stanley Cup win, posting one goal and two assists in 15 games.

The Canadian born forward was a nice find by the Blues, who grabbed him in the sixth-round (176th) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. To this point in his career, Blais has played in 83 regular season games, scoring nine goals and adding 11 helpers.
