KHL Konstantin Okulov won't be making the jump to the NHL next season, as had been rumoured for months. Both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens had been showing great interest in the 25-year-old forward but he's made the decision to re-sign with CSKA Moscow for one more season, as per Igor Eronko of Sport-Express.

According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, we may see more European players who were planning to make the jump to the NHL next season opt to stay at home now.

"Uncertainty around COVID-19 has given pause to some European free agents that intended to sign with NHL teams this off-season," Johnston posted to Twitter. "They're facing a long layoff if next season doesn't start until November -- which is why some, like Okulov, might choose to hold off until next year."

Okulov has been playing in the KHL since he was 18-years-old, first with Novosibirsk Sibir and then with CSKA Moscow starting in 2017-18. He had his best season points wise in 2019-20, scoring 17 goals and 21 assists for 38 points in 56 games.
