Dale Hawerchuk has completed his final round of his chemotherapy treatment, his son Eric confirmed on Monday. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in August.

While being known mainly for playing with the Winnipeg Jets, he also spent time with the Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues, and the Philadelphia Flyers. The now 57-year-old finished his lengthy career scoring 518 goals and adding 891 assists in 1188 regular season games.

Despite never being able to win a Stanley Cup, Hawerchuk was a no doubt Hall of Fame caliber player and was inducted in 2001. He had spent the last eight seasons as the head coach in the OHL for the Barrie Colts, before taking a leave of absence which turned out to be due to his cancer diagnosis.
