The Major League Baseball Players Association have established a program to support all non-roster players who are not currently covered by MLB's payments to minor leaguers, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.

Right now, over 300 players will be eligible for the new program. The non-roster players have been sorted into five tiers relating to service time, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. Here are the potential payouts based on service time accrued:

Any non-roster player who was still in big-league camp on March 13, when the league suspended spring training, is eligible. A big part of this initiative is that it is completely voluntary and that more financially secure players can opt out, according to Passan.

The biggest concern since the MLB shut its doors down in May was how/if the minor-leaguers and those without big contracts would receive any kind of pay cheque during the suspension. This is a major step on the MLBPA's side to ensure their players are okay.
