Strome, 29, was in his fourth season with the New York Rangers, but they opted to let him hit the open market rather than re-signing him.
In 74 games this season, the Toronto native had 54 points (21 goals, 33 assists), 69 penalty minutes and was a plus-fifteen. Strome went on to add nine points in nineteen games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The New York Rangers made it all the way to Eastern Conference Final, but fell in six games to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
With Ryan Strome now off the market, that leaves his brothers Dylan and Matthew still available. Could we see a family reunion in Anaheim? It's unlikely, but only time will tell if Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek wants to sign either Dylan or offer an AHL contract to the youngest Strome brother, Matthew.
