Canadiens' Shea Weber gets involved in the fight against COVID-19 in Quebec
Many in Quebec are about to be greeted by a recording made by Montreal Canadiens captain Shea Weber. The 54 second message gives tips on protecting yourself and others during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The message, which is geared towards English speaking seniors in Quebec, tells those listening to wash their hands often and cough into their elbows. Weber stresses the importance of staying home unless it is necessary to go out for something like a doctor's appointment, although it does tell callers that it is ok to go outside in order to get some fresh air He also tells callers that things like groceries and medications can be delivered right to your door,and to reach out to friends and family by telephone or the internet if you're feeling isolated.
The province of Quebec will be calling several households to deliver the recording. Others have been made by both French and English speaking celebrities as government officials attempt to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
