Prior to heading home for the 2021-22 season, Krejci spent parts of fifteen seasons in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins after they selected him in the second round of the 2004 Entry Draft.
In 962 career games, the Sternberk native has 730 points (215 goals, 515 assists), 339 penalty minutes and is a plus-143. Krejci has added 124 points in 156 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The 36-year-old won the Stanley Cup in 2011 with the Bruins.
It will be interesting to see what role Krejci plays under new Bruins Head Coach Jim Montgomery. During his time in Boston, Krejci was usually the second line center behind Patrice Bergeron, who is also a UFA but reportedly has a contract in place to stay in Boston. It's likely that Krejci retains his 2C role, with Charlie Coyle assuming the third line center position.
Per source, David Krejci is currently in negotiations to return to the Boston Bruins.— Lou Merloni (@LouMerloni) July 11, 2022
