Juraj Slafkovsky Selected 1 Overall by the Montreal Canadiens
After years of unanimity, Shane Wright has been usurped by Juraj Slafkovsky as the top draft pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Slafkovsky's ascent up the draft board happened seemingly overnight; his Olympic performance was incredible with 7 goals in 7 games.
What a turn of events, as Slafkovsky is a Montreal Canadien, and he is the first Slovakian player ever to be drafted first overall. Huge congratulations to Slafkovsky, and hopefully he is able to live up to the hype in a tough hockey market.
